After attending a Buddhist meditation workshop just before my Icelandic trip, I’ve taken time to let the teachings settle and reaffirm my favorite mantra: When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
Here are some beautiful insights I wanted to share with you:
1. We often chase joy and fulfillment externally, but true peace comes from within.
2. Discipline your mind to not be disturbed by the familiar patterns that hold you back.
3. Material possessions bring temporary satisfaction, but inner peace is the ultimate investment—it’s the one thing we take with us at the end of our journey. Our inner world.
4. Not every thought or feeling deserves your trust; don’t use them to justify negative behaviors.
5. Meditate gently. It’s a gradual process, like planting seeds for a more peaceful mind.
6. Every situation is a lesson—an opportunity to grow and practice mindfulness.
7. The meaning of life? Unchanging inner peace. Focus on the present; the future isn’t guaranteed.
8. Problems arise from negative responses. See them as challenges or opportunities instead—hurt less, learn more.
9. Visualization is powerful: breathe in white energy, exhale the black smoke of negativity, and feel lighter.
10. Let go of what’s happened. Focus on now, and choose positivity.
11. Be your own tuning fork. Find your way back to kindness and peace, and let the anger train pass.
12. Buddhist teachings are like cooking—day by day, apply the right ingredients for a happy mind.
13. The more we cherish others, the happier we become.
✨ Each of these ideas brought clarity to my journey, and I hope they inspire yours. What resonates with you most? 💭
